A journey into the desert is an unforgettable adventure for the whole family. Contact with the camels, sleeping under the open sky, campfires, singing songs, and just being in a totally different environment away from TV, PC, and Internet… this is a great experience for all, and for many, a new experience altogether.

Sleeping under the open sky is an especially beautiful experience. However, we do keep a large tent with us, which can always be set up as needed.
Example of a family trip from Marrakesh:

Day 1
Departure from Marrakesh with your private driver and desert guide. Trip across the Tizin Tichka (Atlas) towards Draa Valley. Multiple breaks underway. After approx. 4 hour’s drive, arrival in a small, quaint Riad.
Day 2
Further travel through the Draa Valley to Zagora incl. lunch break (approx. 3 hours). Chance to purchase local desert clothing. Accommodation in a cozy hotel with a swimming pool.
Day 3
Arrival in the desert. Meet the caravan and get to know the guides and camels. The first leg of the journey is characterized by small dunes and Acacia. At sunset, we climb a small dune and enjoy the view along with sweet Moroccan tea. We camp at the foot of dunes under the endless starry sky.
Day 4
In our second leg, we pass through flat plains bordered by dunes. Perhaps you will see your first mirage. Lunch break in the shade with time to lie around and play. We then continue on our journey and pitch our camp in the dunes. Around the campfire you and your children will have time to sing songs, drum, chat, and count shooting stars.
Day 5
Confidence among the camels and the guides will have grown and they will share a lot of information about their beloved animals. Perhaps the children will want to feel the camels feet. The daily routine is similar to the previous days. The vastness and silence of the desert will show more and more of its effect
Day 6
Returning to the palm oasis of Mhamid. The green of the fields and palm trees is incredibly intense. Farewell to the caravan and the camels and return to the hotel. Suddenly, showering is incredibly fun.
Day 7
Return trip to Marrakech (with additional stops on request).
