Philosophie

Our philosophy is leave nothing but our footprints behind.

It is important to maintain an attentive and loving interaction with people, animals, and nature.

So we align our daily routines and the rhythm of the desert:

“The morning light wakes us early so that we can climb the nearest dune and marvel at the sunrise. Even the camels and camel drivers are awake and ready to cook breakfast. Soon we can start. “Jalla Jalla – Tawada” – we are on our way. We walk straight out into the vast emptiness of the Sahara. Tawada – being on our way, progressing, trusting, with calmness and serenity, appreciating whatever may meet us on our way, that is our philosophy.
A midday rest in the shadow of a tree (that also exists in the Sahara); time just to be; lazing around; drifting; chatting… And on it goes, maybe allowing ourselves to be comfortably carried by our camels… Allowing the mind time to wander and to find inner peace… The camp is set up and the camels are allowed to rest. The camel drivers love the desert and their animals, you can feel it. The way they care for each other and for the animals is with sensitivity and kindness. The people and animals radiate calmness and serenity, a feeling which we soon also take on. Sunset and mint tea… Relaxing and waiting for the soup and the delicious dinner… Perhaps Khalid will still make a fire and sing Berber songs of beautiful camels… In any case, the endless starry skies are waiting for us…”
